The Waco Custom is a 1/22 scale, Society of Antique Modelers qualified, flying model that uses the Box and Former method of construction.
The history of WACO Aircraft Company 1920-46 is an important part of the early days of aviation & a big part of the history of Troy, Ohio. Many of these sturdy & reliable aircraft are still flying, and pieces of the WACO mystique have found there way into unexpected places in the culture of modern America.
In the early 1920s the Weaver Aircraft Company began producing aircraft under the name WACO. This kit is a scale model of the WACO Custom series of elegant biplanes which were introduced in 1935.
This free flight rubber powered kit contains a full-size plan, building instructions, printed balsa wood, balsa stripwood, rubber motor, propeller, nose package, clear plastic for the windshield, wheels, landing gear, and Easy Built Lite colored tissue. You will need a building board, pins, hobby knife, sandpaper, and glue.
