BMJ-B-504
The Kiwi-Koop is intended as an “entry”
level model for introduction to high performance rubber powered Free Flight,
featuring a folding prop. For competition, it may be flown in the FAI (Federation
Aeronautique International) F1G “coupe” class. The Coupe D'Hiver class
originated in
France
in the 1940's as the “winter cup” to spawn interest in modeling during the
off-season. F1G rules are simple. Wing Span 36 in./ Wing Area 186 Sq. In. Model
must weigh a minimum of 70 grams without motor, and power is limited to a 10
gram rubber motor. Both the prototype and 1st kit built models all came in under
the 70 gram requirement and required a small amount of weight to be added,
showing that this kit can be built to competitive legal weight without advanced
building skills. The Kiwi-Koop has proven to be an easy kit for the beginner to
build and trim, but is capable of turning in a contest winning time.
